During this time it became clear to me not only how deeply our communities are affected by trauma, grief, and inequity, but also how healing and liberation are possible. This belief led me to pursue my master’s degree in social work at the University of California, Berkeley and go on to coordinate a mental health clinic in Quito, Ecuador.
